Al-Wahhaab
(The Bestower of bounties)
It comes from the word “wahaba” which means he gave ( gave a gift)—to give –to bestow. Allah is The Giver of blessings and bounties, The Bestower of what HE wants and to whom HE wants. The specificity of this Attribute of Allah is that Allah, when HE wants and to whomever HE wants gives even before his/her asking for it, and gives without any price for it. This Attribute has come in the following verses of the Holy Qur’aan:
Surah Aali-Imraan verse 8with translation:
(3:8) )They pray to Allah(: ‘Our Lord! Do not let our hearts swerve towards crookedness after You have guided us to the right way, and. bestow upon us Your mercy. Surely You, only You, are the Munificent Giver!
Surah Saad verse 9:
اَمۡ عِنۡدَهُمۡ خَزَآٮِٕنُ رَحۡمَةِ رَبِّكَ الۡعَزِيۡزِ الۡوَهَّابِۚ 9
(38:9) Do they possess the treasures of your Lord, the Most Mighty, the Great Bestower?
Surah saad verse 35:
(38:35) He said: “My Lord, forgive me and bestow upon me a kingdom such as none other after me will deserve. Surely You are the Bounteous Giver.”36

Special favours on the Prophets alaihim salaam:
In the verse 35 of surah Saad there is the du’aa (supplication ) of Solaimaan alaihi salaam which was accepted By Allah The Al-Wahhaab Who then gave to Solaimaan alaihi salaam a unique type of kingdom in which he ruled on mankind. Jinn kind, birds/animals and on wind.
Allah is The Owner of the treasures of the heavens and the earth. If HE gives to all of the Jinn and mankind from the beginning of the world to the end, no deficiency will happen in HIS treasures.
Allah gave lots of blessings to HIS prophets. For e.g. Allah said in surah Maryam verse 50 about Ibraheem, Is-haaq and Yaqoob alaihim salaam (English translation of the verse is ):
(19:50) and We bestowed on them Our mercy, and granted them a truly lofty renown.28

About Musa alaihi salaam, Allah said in surah Maryam verse 53, (English translation):
(19:53) and out of Our mercy We appointed his brother Aaron, a Prophet (that he may assist him).

About Ayoob alaihi salaam Allah Almighty said in surah Saad 43, Its English translation is:
(38:43) And We granted to him his family and also the like of them,44 as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding,45

Zakariyya alaihi salaam prayed to Allah to give him a child. Allah Almighty accepted his du’aa (prayer) and gave him Yahya alaihi salaam. Allah said in surah Al-Anbiyaa 90, (Its Engish translarion is):
(21:89) And We bestowed favour upon Zechariah, when he cried to his Lord: “Lord! Leave me not solitary (without any heir). You are the Best Inheritor.”
(21:90) So We accepted his prayer and bestowed upon him John, and We made his wife fit86 (to bear a child). Verily they hastened in doing good works and called upon Us with longing and fear, and humbled themselves to Us.87

His wife had sterility, Allah gave her normal health and fertility in that very old age to produce a baby.
Giving gifts to common people:
Allah said in surah Al- Shura (read as Ash-Shura) verses 49—50 (The English translation is );
((42:49) The dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah.76 He creates whatever He pleases. He grants females to whomever He pleases and males to whomever He pleases,
(42:50) or grants them a mix of males and females, and causes whomever He pleases to be barren. He is All- Knowing, All-Powerful.77

Exp. note 77:
77. This is a manifest proof of Allah’s Sovereignty being absolute. No man, whether he be posing as owner of the highest worldly authority, or regarded as owner of great spiritual powers, has ever been able to produce children for himself according to his own choice and desire, not to speak of providing children for others. The one whom Allah made barren could not have children through any medicine, any treatment, any amulet or charm. The one whom Allah gave only daughters could not get a single son by any device, and the one whom Allah gave only sons could not have a single daughter by any means. In this matter everyone is absolutely helpless. Even after seeing all this if some one posed to be all-powerful in God’s kingdom, or regarded another as a possessor of the powers, it would be his own shortsightedness for which he himself will suffer, the truth will not change at all.

Our du’aa as given in surah Al-Furqaan:
وَالَّذِيۡنَ يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ رَبَّنَا هَبۡ لَـنَا مِنۡ اَزۡوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيّٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ اَعۡيُنٍ وَّاجۡعَلۡنَا لِلۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ اِمَامًا 74
(25:74) who are prone to pray: “Our Lord! Grant us that our spouses and our offspring be a joy to our eyes,92 and do make us the leaders of the God-fearing.”93

We must always be hopeful and pray to Allah. Zakariya alaihi salaam was given a son namely Yahya (John) alaihi salam when he and his wife were both very old. Also his wife was infertile. Ibraheem alaihi salaam was given Is-haaq alaihi salaam when he was 100 years old and his wife was 99 years old!
Allah Almighty bestowed lots of gifts and blessings on the Ummah of Muhammad salla Allaho alaihi wa sallam. A scholar said on you tube during his speech, that we have a life better than the kings of the past. In the past it was difficult for a king to get cool water. They had to put water in leather/skin container underground to make it cool. So, if not in quantity but certainly, in quality, our life is much better. Now we have refrigerators to get cool water. We have elevators, cars, escalators, trains, air planes. We have shower in our houses and get cool or warm water as we like. Many blessings like this are in our service. Allah gave us all of such blessings without our asking for them. Even people couldn’t imagine such blessings as we have now. All of these blessings are due to the Al-Wahhaab attribute of Allah. We must pay lots of thanks to Allah for these blessings and our thanks must be both orally and practically. We must help poor and needy people to pay practical thanks to Allah. We must also celebrate the praises of Allah and must worship HIM day and night.
